Golden Ring

The words “Golden Ring” mean a ring of the Russian cities northeast of Moscow, which have the most beautiful architecture and are very important from a historical viewpoint. If you see these cities, it will be your best travel to Russia. There are actually 2 “Rings” – the Big one and the Small one. The Small Golden Ring is very popular among tourists, it contains 8 cities. Here are their names with the distance from Moscow:

• Pereslavl – Zalesskiy – 148 km
• Rostov Velikiy – 213 km
• Yaroslavl – 270 km
• Kostroma – 349 km
• Ivanovo – 300 km
• Suzdal – 222 km
• Vladimir – 185 km

The St. Sergei Monastery is called also Russian Vatican because it has been the religious and spiritual center ot he State since 14th century. And now it’s one of the patriarchates of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. The monastery is situated in the city Serghiev Posad, which has about 100 000 inhabitants. During the visit you will understand the particularity of that place, besides, you will be able to take the Holy Water.
